The triptych panels were digitally designed and then laser cut. Each panel is 79h x 42w x .25d inches. The panels protrude from the wall about 1.5 – 2 inches, allowing the panel’s cut shapes to create shadows on the wall. These shadows are an integral part of the overall artwork and concept.
The painting refers to themes of beauty, fear, fertility, and lushness versus emptiness. While the animals are painted representationally, the flat painted shapes and shape of the panels refer to my ongoing dialog with abstract painting.
